Cristina..... suffered from ligneous conjunctivitis of the left eyelid causing progressive sight loss in 1992.
Surgical excision and eye drops containing steroids and hyaluronidase were temporarily effective.
In 1994 she recovered from relapsing disease using cyclosporine eye drops.
Gum pseudomembranes developed while carrying an orthodontic brace and disappeared after the removal of the device.
1999- She was admitted to the Endocrinology Department of Padua University for Cushing’s disease in February 1999.
Her serum and urinary cortisol levels were high and were not suppressed by high-dose dexamethazone.
A pituitary adenoma was demonstrated by cerebral MRI.
She was cured with trans-sphenoidal hypophysectomy in March 1999.
Before surgery, a coagulation study was carried out to evaluate the prothrombotic state usually associated with Cushing’s syndrome.
Surprisingly, her PLG: Ag and PLG:act levels were low (36% and 45%, respectively), as well as VWF:Ag (63.75%)
and VWF:RCo (51.5%), suggesting a combined hypoplasminogenemia and von Willebrand’s disease.
Other clotting parameters were within normal ranges.
A progressive decrease in plasminogen (PLG:Ag = 21%, PLG:act = 29.7%) and von Willebrand factor (VWF:Ag = 52.3%, VWF:RCo = 39.5%)
levels was observed in the 20-month period following hypophysectomy (Fig. 4).
Oral contraceptives (levonorgestrel 150 µg plus ethynilestradiol 30 µg) were given from November 2000 to July 2001.
Plasminogen levels rose during the treatment, but returned to the baseline six months after its withdrawal (Fig. 4).
In addition, ligneous conjunctivitis consisting in a pseudomembrane 3 mm in diameter grew on the left lower eyelid in February 2002.
Oral contraceptives (levonorgestrel 100 µg plus ethynilestradiol 20 µg) were given again in May 2002 and associated with
a new rise in plasminogen levels (Fig. 4) and the slow disappearance of the ligneous conjunctivitis within 3 months.
During oral contraceptive therapy, a slight increase in VWF:Ag and VWF:RCo levels (65% and 60% of normal, respectively)
was also observed.

- In 2004, Cristina has faced a plastic surgery to change the shape of her chin:
during the surgery it was injected into her chin a drug called "Bioalcamid" [polyalkylimide] .
- In 2005, some granulomas apperad, and soon it became obvious that they were increasing in amount.
Some ultrasound-based analisys was performed in order to estabilish the origin of the granuloma:
according to the results, the cause was likely some inflammation.
On March 12, 2011, a well-known cosmetic surgeon in Milan (P. L.)
was asked to extract from the chin the most likely cause of granulomas, hence "Bioalcamid"
(such operation is allowed by "Bioalcamid" manifacturer himself, though "partially"): granulomas were as big as hazelnuts.
The surgeon removed a lot of material using some huge syringe.
Right after this last surgery, an hematoma appeared, and almost contemporaneously a partial loss of voice.
The day after, Cristina was voiceless, some serious amount of white fibrin appeared in the upper
and lower left eye and she started coughing, though no fever was noted down.
Presently, she's no coughing anymore, she's still voiceless and she's taking no drugs.
She went to some expert, and the response was basically pointless, since he wrote April 12, 2011 (see attached image)
that the formations are "consistent with pseudo-membranes".
